I am having an issue where there is too large of a height difference on my carpet layout between my Fastrack and my mth bridge. If anyone knows of a lower profile track than Lionel tubular, please let me know, as my Lionel SD60e's have started to do some soldering on the center rail.

One option; MTH now makes their bridges "FasTrack Compatible". Sell / replace the bridge you have and use all FasTrack.
Another option is use 027 tinplate. It's a lower profile than the 031. That said, I really don't know if that will correct your alignment issues.
Option #3, put RealTrax on the bridge. MTH has a tinplate transition track too. Connect the FasTrack and RealTrax transition pieces together.
The 0-27 track is probably your fix. You’ll need to enlarge the track tube at the opening to fit the larger pins or use the 0-27 pins and crimp the larger tubes on the standard O tubular transition pieces. Careful you don’t get carpet fuzz in your locomotives.
I took the floor of the bridge off and the track just sits on carpet.
How does the rail height cause "soldering"? I actually had to raise Gargraves track to get clearances for MTH engines to miss the walkway.

My SD60e's are so low, that the fuel tank scrapes the center rail when transitioning, causing an arc, shorting the transformer.
Thanks, Jim. That was hard to see in your picture. A piece of tape on the fuel tank might be the easiest fix. Do both engines have the problem?
