Would anyone be familiar with the Industrial Rail streetcars ? I am looking for opinions.
I think l used one to kitbash the chassis for a gas electric..did several with different donors, so have to check .
It is really a bump and go trolley. I have the orange & blue one. It has been very reliable.
They are fairly robust and generally trouble free. The electronic e-unit can operate either as bump-and-go or as F-N-R, depending upon your preference.
I would exercise caution. The version that was done by Atlas after they bought Industrial Rail is far better. I have owned both. I suggest attempting to find the Atlas version. You might find one if you are going to the York Show.
Agree with Irish Rifle, I have an early version, it stopped working, bad gears, now just a body that lights up.
Thanks all. Would the new versions be labeled as an Atlas product or does the box still indicate an Industrial Rail product ?
The Atlas version of the Industrial Rail streetcar does have the Atlas logo on the box, in addition to "Industrial Rail Line." Mine is a reliable performer and I particularly enjoy that it bump reverses at a relatively slow speed.
Will the IR trolley run on superstreets?
Sorry, this question is about an Atlas Industrial Rail trolley. I thought using super streets through my commercial town would look really cool. Any comments would be welcome since this is one of the Items I want to finish before I go further on my layout.
In the past I heard of two incidents of the original IR Trolleys electronics catching on fire so my three cars sit inside of the carbarn retired out of service.
I have two Atlas IR cars that run fine and they will run on EZ or Superstreets 21 inch curve.
