Installing New Wicks in Smoke Units

Hi Guys - I saw this video on youtube and noticed that while changing the wick on his smoke unit he placed the wick between the two resistors and then squeezed the resistors together somewhat to hold the wick in place - is this the correct method of installing a new wick?
