I have a IRV-2 sensor system (6-85296) that I use on my layout that loses power after a few seconds( the red indicator light goes out and the light on the sensor track goes out).  I replaced the power supply / DPI cable system with a new one ( 6-81499). Same issue. I tried a different IRV-2 module that I know works because it works in my shop. It does the same thing . If I plug the power supply into my wifi module (6-81325) it does the same thing ( red light on WiFi module goes out. .  What is the next trouble shooting step. All of the connecting cables seem to be secure.

Interesting note that even if the red power light goes out on my wifi module the wifi still works.

What am I missing here. Probably something obvious.

I am able to program the engine ID in my shop. I am able to upload the engine information to my shop legacy base using the shop IRV-2. Red light on IRV-2 stays on.

separate system.

I am able to program the engine ID at into my layout legacy base. I am not able to upload the engine information to my layout base via the IRV-2 programming track on my layout. Red light on IRV-2 shuts off.

The layout system did work at one time.

Is this possibly a legacy base issue???

Any help would be greatl appreciated.

Hi John, I was hoping that you would reply.  I replaced everything that is included in the 6-81499.

They supply the 9 pin connector . It’s is attached to a 12 volt power supply / cable and a PDI cable that goes to the IRV-2 module.

I may disconnect the layout legacy base and bring it into the shop to see if it works with the shop  wifi and IRV-2 system .

Hi John, You were correct ,it’s definitely not the legacy base. I transferred the layout base to the shop and was able to upload the engine information using the shop IRV-2 set up. Now its just a matter of unplugging every thing at the layout and troubleshooting one piece at a time.` Ill run an separate extension cord for power to start . I might as well eliminate everything.
