Prayers for you uplifted!

My bother is currently fighting 2 forms of cancer, one throat (he never smoked) and prostate.  The docs and the Lord are doing great things for him!  May they do as much for you!

Hi Marty,  I just found out about you. I feel so bad. I am sure you will pull thru this. You will be in my prayers. I will miss seeing you & Dotty at York. I will give you a call when I get back on the 14th.

Wishing you a speedy recovery, Marty.  You’ve been extremely kind and helpful to me in the relatively short time I’ve known you.  You’ll win this fight!

Ditto that, Joe. I've only known Marty for a couple of years and he has been a huge help to me.

Keep up the fight, Marty--you can do it.

Hi Marty, you don't know me and we have never met, but you are a big inspiration to me and many others here on the forum. I would like to share a little story with you if you don't mind.

In 2014 I was diagnosed with stage 4 head and neck cancer, needless to say it was devastating to me, my wife and both of our family's. After many doctors one big neck dissection, months of Chemo and 7 1/2 weeks of radiation. My ENT that did the neck dissection told my wife and I to get my duck in a row, that I may only have 1 year to do what I want.

At that point my wife and I shared the news with both our family's, friends, members of this forum and with the help of all combined and all there prayers to the all might  here I sit 3 years in remission cancer free! I know the power of prayer first hand. My wife and I will be praying for you, your wife and your family!

May God bless you and give you a speedy recovery!

Hey Marty, I'm really sorry to read that you are having all these problems.

I don't have to tell you how the many members on these pages have become personal friends to most of us.

It goes without saying friend that my prayers are with you.

God Bless!

Hi Marty

As you face this challenge it is very good to know you have so many friends cheering for you. And, of course, I'm one of them.

Lew Schneider

I don't know you personally, but have always appreciated all I've learned from you on here. I've also enjoyed your layout photos.

Just keep thinking how much you will enjoy York this fall when you are feeling better!

Hope you are feeling better soon!

Hi Marty,

I wanted to add my little bit of positive energy to the collective brother/sisterhood here on the forum and wish you the best throughout this latest challenge. We're with you, pal...

You are one of the very best people in the industry and a dear friend to so many in our hobby. So sad to hear of your struggles and the fact that you will miss your first York Meet in 40 years. However, your return to good health is far more important than that streak. All the best to you for a speedy and complete recovery! I am sure that every member of the Forum and all of your other colleagues in our hobby are pulling for you!

Get well soon Marty, the nice guy that always shared the hobby with others. His willingness to open his home to visitors was always amazing. The model train hobby would not be the same without you.   Prayers from the LaGrua family; Dennis, Paula, Douglas, Erin and Daniel

I don’t know you personally Marty, only from this forum, but I send prayers to you for a speedy recovery from Wisconsin.

Hello Guys.   It is my health.   A few years ago I had prostate cancer and needed to get my prostate removed.   That was followed up with radiation  and hormone therapy.   Two years ago it was discovered that I now have bladder cancer.    Three different operations were done to remove the cancer.   I just had one recently and the effects of being put out as many times as I have had are causing me all sorts of grief.   To top that, I had a blood clot removed from my leg only two days after the bladder operation.   I am trying to get better from all of this and doing my best.  I will not be at York this April.   This will be the first time I have missed from 1980.   I am a fighter and will hopefully go to York in the fall.    Thank you all for your concerns.  It is appreciated very much.   Being a person who never smoked a day in my life I will fight this.

Thank you for your concern David.

I hope you get well marty. As the once pround seaboard coast line used to state."PULLING FOR YOU!!"

Marty, though I only officially joined the forum two years ago I have been lurking and reading the forum since about 2000.  I cannot count the times you answered questions even before I knew I had the question. Thank you for the invaluable assistance you have given over the years especially for those who have never met you. My prayers are with you, get well soon.   John Acton

Having experienced at least the first half of your ordeal, I know its no picnic, and the second half has got to be worse.  However, prayers ascend for your full recovery, functionality and enduring good health!  You have been a great help to me, in the past, and we can't afford to lose a great resource like you.  Hang in there and give 'em hell!
