Is there any interest in the ALCo's C636 and C430?

A CR C636 would be nice

For Atlas to tool up the C636 trucks, would they ever experience a return on that investment

In some of the Diesel Detailer facebook and websites i see the truvks were made from EMD HTC sideframes, sand off the snubber and add the ALCo stabilizer detail to the modified EMD truck sideframe.

I would love an L&N C430.

How about one in modern Delaware Lackawanna (GVT) colors?  Its not my era, but the DL has a large Alco following. Heck, I might even buy one for fun.  BTW neither DL&W nor the Erie  owned any C636s, but Weaver did produce one in EL paint and I have one that I upgraded with ERR. It is a good runner and pull like a mule.  I have its Dereco sister in D&H paint awaiting an upgrade as well.  These engines were a steal back in the 90s.

The c636 is a different animal than the c630. Weaver never did a c636.

I am in for a Susquehanna as well, I bet many other guys would. I noticed that the Lionel Susquehanna C420's were all snatched up.

As a follow up, unless I missed it, I don't believe Atlas bought the MTH tooling for the above loco's. Maybe Lionel will purchase, and make these. I know Atlas could re-run these and people. including me, would love it.

No Atlas didn't buy the Weaver/ MTH tooling for the ALCo C630. Atlas O tooling is far superior than the Weaver/ MTH tooling. Sadly, Atlas O only did one run of their superior ALCo C630.

They need to rerun those again. Now that Atlas O is using DCS, im sure they will rerun their excelent master series Locomotives again.

I’m pretty sure the Santa Fe didn’t have any but my first train set was a Tyco ho Santa Fe set with the 4301 C430 Alco.

That train set didn’t survive my childhood and only the ol 4301 shell is in a box somewhere.

I’d love to find or paint one in that livery to run on the o scale empire though.

Fast Freight, I am doing just that. I too had a Tyco set at an early age, my first new to me train set. It was the Alco HO C430 engine in the Tyco Silver Streak set. I've got all the other cars in O and haven't found the right candidate for the Engine. It would be an easy convert in the Santa Fe Scheme.

    Bringing up an old thread but it inspired me to work on a project.

    As was said above I always wanted an O scale version of a Santa Fe C430.

    This project was only ever to be a, (that's good enough) attempt.

    The first picture is an internet photo of a Tyco ho scale C430, the second photo is what I put together.

    I cut about 2" out of a MTH C630 shell and mated it to a Lionel C420 frame. I had to extend the frame about 1/2".

   I doubt I'll change the numbers or paint the yellow above the cab. It's "good enough" for me.

I have a Lionel shell and RS-11 frame to do the same! (Of course the NYC needs Hi-Ad trucks). Here’s my thoughts…

   One reason I went with the C420 was the trucks matched the TYCO model well enough.

   The shell is a little off and I still need to finish the warbonnet. I could have lengthened the frame evenly to center the fuel tank but I just don't have the talent and patience like many master builders on here.

   I may have to add an err cruise commander M as slows down and speeds up on a grade so for now it's on flat track only.
