BCR 1

BCR2

Proto 2

Proto 3

If I look in my MTH Engine and see Proto 2, and I personally did not, or don’t have specific knowledge of the type of Battery inside-is there a sure fire guaranteed method to determine if there is a BCR 1 inside?

And since it’s a Proto 2, if I am able to determine the battery source identity, if it has a charging port, then I can determine that it is a BCR 2 and not a BCR 1 inside?

And, correct me if I am incorrect, but Protect 3 already have a BCR, and there’s no need to check?

The reason I’m seeking this knowledge is because I just acquired two SD70ACe, and they are Proto 2; and they both have the 2.4 volt 700 mAh “Double A” size batteries-which I will be changing to BCR 2. And I purchased 4 BCR’s, 2 BCR 1, 2 BCR 2. So that I could upgrade at least 4 engines during this endeavor.
Somehow, when I set out to do a task, such as this,  it seems more productive to do multiples; ironically doing the dishes-I prefer there be just one-like a spoon-and if the wife isn’t looking, I’d just throw it away...buy a few next time I’m at the store.
The fun part is watching the wife wonder why we have so many spoons. 😁
