This was in the box of the set I just bought. Is it a Flyer box? I don't think it is, but it has a blue & yellow stripe on the flap and it is an old box. 15.5" x 3.25" x 2.25".

That looks to be a late prewar box, if it's flyer. Looks like it might be a flyer box, for track me Be? A label on it?

Yes, that is an original AF box. I have two 652 passenger cars LN in those boxes with readable stampings on the end flap. The 652's are the 1953 AFL Pikes Peak version with non opening doors. The boxes also show up with other cars in that time frame. If you look at Volume III, Sets, of the Deger book there are some of those boxes visible. I believe some track and turnouts have also been documented in the plain boxes.
Very cool! I'm glad I asked instead of tossing it. There is absolutely nothing written on or stamped in it.

Agreed. I have a set of switches in a plain box. The inserts are what you see in a printed one, and they are both the exact same size.
