I'm in the NW burbs. I don't have a designated layout, yet... So is there a good club around where a guy like me could learn before I start making mistakes!!

Jim and Ray have suggested some great groups, and I will throw in another for your consideration. The North Central O Gaugers have a layout at the public library in Mundelein, and have a modular layout that they set up all over the North and Northwest suburbs. Their run schedule is on the website.

Chicago is a great city and a great place to be a model RRer. Just think of all the MAJOR RRs that Chicago hosted....too many to list! When we took our cross country train trip in '98, we had a layover in the beautiful Chi-Town station. We lounged in the VIP section of the station as we had 1st class tickets...we were treated very well! Would love to go again! Tom in Picksburgh
