IT's TEAM TRACK TUESDAY!!! Share your team track photos here!
Team tracks play a vital role in the day to day operations of real railroads. Practically every type of freight car can be on/off loaded on a team track. Some passenger train head end equipment and MOW equipment can be also be on/off loaded on a team track. Team tracks are found in remote rural locations, small towns and large cities. Team tracks are undesignated spurs or sidings open to any business or pubic/private organization who desire to receive or ship freight by rail. A team track does not service one specific industry such as a lumber yard or fuel oil dealership etc.
This week I'm choosing to show a couple of my York goodies. Two tractors, a 1953 Mack and a 1950 Kenworth Bullnose. I bought these from Die Cast Direct ( and OGR forum sponsor ) in the Orange Hall. I saw them and instantly knew I had to have them! They remind me of tractors used by a small trucking company in my hometown when I was a kid. I would see these tractors driving very slowly ( I lived on a residential street ) up and down my street several times a day. I always loved seeing them!
As my imagination tells the story, its 1953. A local trucking company in Patsburg purchased these tractors from a dealer in York, Pa. They were shipped via the Ma & Pa, Western Maryland Railway and the Free State Junction Railway to their destination on Team Track One in lower Patsburg. Once off loaded down the ramp, the two tractors are scene heading down Patsburg Ave. to the home of their new owner. I'm sure they will show up right here at the team track again as they will be either bringing freight or hauling away freight from the team track.
Lets see your team track photos! Prototype photos of team track operations are always welcome too!
Have a wonderfully fun and creative week! See ya next week on the TEAM TRACK!
