IT' TEAM TRACK TUESDAY!!  Share your team track photos here!!

Team tracks are a vital part of day to day railroad operations.  Practically every type of freight car can be on/off loaded on a team track.  MOW equipment and some passenger train head end equipment can also be on/off loaded on team tracks.

The purpose of this thread is to inspire one another with photos of team track operations both prototypical and in miniature on our layouts.  Changing team track scenes frequently also helps keep our imagination engaged by brining freshly created vignettes to our layouts.  All modelers are welcome to participate.  If you have an elaborately detailed museum quality layout or a simple oval of track with an undedicated siding, please post your photos.

This week on the Free State Junction Railway's Mountain Division team track at Lildanlu Crossing, we have a stock car load of turkeys having been loaded and ready to go to market.  As soon as the crew shoos these last two turkeys into the car and slides the door shut, their job will be done.  The local freight will be here in about 30 minutes to pull the car and take these turkeys to market.  By Thursday these birds will be the center piece of many dinner tables.

Lastly we have a photo of a turkey who has met his fate, as a peacock looks on and says " It's good to be a peacock on Thanksgiving!"

See ya next week on the TEAM TRACK!  Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone!! IMG_3943IMG_3944IMG_3950IMG_3951IMG_3955IMG_3960IMG_3970

That is so "cool".

Patrick, it appears that this double deck with two haft height doors stock car is made by Lionel.  Please confirm and do you know the Lionel item number for it?

Ron

Hi Ron - The double deck is actually made by K line.  I could not find an item number on the car.  I believe I bought it at a train show and it may have been sold without a box.  If I do have a box for this car it will take some searching, as most of the train boxes are stored in my attic.  If I come across the box in the next few days, I'll get back to you with the item number ... if you are interested in the K line item number.

                                              a very large team track.....

                                        a portable team track....

                                                       and a crane on stilts......

Patrick, thanks for info.  Thought I saw  a Lionel logo on car.  But yours is a K-line K763-1091.

Great Photos everyone....Tim, I can't wait to see your video.

This week the bulkhead flat has returned from the "left" coast loaded with telephone poles for Ma Bell...

As the crew stands around figuring out how to unload these...

 Happy Thanksgiving Everybody!

Excellent. The pictures help tell a story as you described.

I actually remember a siding (circa 1959) were telephone poles were on several flat cars and Reps from Bell Telephone and Commonwealth Electric were checking the loads.  There was a small crane and several flat deck trailers to take the loads.

Thanks for the wonderful photos everyone!   Brian - great prototype shots and love the juxtaposing of the real and model!

Thanks for your nice comment Josef!  Much appreciated!!

Mark - Got to love that Bell Telephone panel van!  You captured the facial expressions of the workers clearly!  Where did you get those telephone poles? The look great!!

Tim - looking forward to the video with those 12 hoppers!

PRRRONBH - good luck with finding that double deck stock car.  Eventually one will turn up, hopefully earlier than later!

CPOWELL - Thanks for your assistance in the double deck car search!

Thanks to all who stopped by to view what's happening on the team track this week!  Have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Thanks Pat. The poles are just 1/4 inch dowels, roughed up with a razor saw and thrown into jar of acrylic paint wash of black, grey and brown with a little blank ink thrown in.

Patrick, one more question.  Where did you find/get these turkeys?  I think  it great idea to populate my new stock car with these.

Thank you Josef. Plausibility is one thing I strive for each week. I ask myself does this scene or  product load look believable? Does it make sense? Some weeks it works better than others. Sometimes I'll post something just because its fun or unusual...Hint hint, keep tuned in.

Ron - The turkeys are from Artista.  You should be able to find them easy enough on the Artista website or any dealer selling Artista figures.
