IT's TEAM TRACK TUESDAY!!  Share photos of action on your railroad's team track (s).

Team tracks are a vital part of day to day real railroad operations.  Nearly every kind of freight car, some passenger head end equipment, and MOW equipment can be serviced on a team track.  On/off loading freight, mail, milk, heavy equipment, large machinery, can be handled on a team track.  Sometimes team tracks can be used for storage of freight cars or locomotives.  Such was the case last week as the Free State Junction Railway was pressed for track space over at the steam locomotive coaling tower.  Several hoppers loaded with coal had to be moved to the team track and stored a week.   Those cars were finally pulled off the team track just yesterday and moved, by a Dockside switcher, to the coal tower.  It's good to have the steam locomotives back running  again, burning lots of black diamonds and belching smoke til the cows come home

Just this morning a switch crew spotted this short string of MOW cars onto the team track.  It seams the B&O big hook was having mechanical difficulties.  A B&O repair crew was rapidly dispatched to the scene in their new Ford pickup.  These guys know their craft well and will do whatever it takes to get this crane back up and running again soon.

Show us what's happening on your railroad's team track.

Have a wonderfully creative and fun week!  See ya next Tuesday on the TEAM TRACK! IMG_4055IMG_4045IMG_4048IMG_4054IMG_4047IMG_4044

Happy TTT Everyone!

Patrick, SIRT, Tim, Brian- great stuff.

Mark- my Christmas tree shots last week don't hold a candle to yours. Excellent work. I don't know how or where you find all of the little details that go into your posts.

Nothing on the RSJ&B this week. Got the house decorated for Christmas over the weekend so little time to run the trains.

Here are some shots of a local success story here on Long Island. It is the Brookhaven Rail Terminal which has brought the team track to central Suffolk County. The facility has made freight service on LI profitable again. They specialize in bulk freight and raw materials while removing thousands of trucks from local roads each year. The large white buildings in the last photo are used by Home Depot to warehouse building materials locally.

Hey guys!  Really great photos and video selections!!

SIRT - Love the Weyerhaeuser modern double door boxcar and the weathering work you did!!  ASLO your photos tell a really good story from beginning to end with the fellow sweeping out the empty car.   The concrete pad alongside the car looks great with your weathering job!! Definitely all looks real to me

Tim - Love that Big Boy video!!  It really pulls one heck of a lot of cars headed for team tracks throughout the west, Im sure!!

Brian - again your prototype pics give us all ideas for scenes to model on our team tracks.   That is one H U G E load for the gantry crane!!  Thanks too  for the blue print of the gantry crane.  Fork lifts are certainly a necessary piece of equipment for team tracks.

Mark - Very festive team track scene!!  I like it that the community can come to the team track to purchase fresh Christmas trees.  Very cool!!  Also love the 59 Chevy with the BIG fins!!  Nothing says "land yacht"  like that 59!

Rich - I'll bet those packages are filled with models of switch locomotives!!  What are the chances?   Great scene!!

Thanks for all the wonderful contributions this week everyone!!  AND - thanks to all those who stopped by to check out what's happening on the TEAM TRACK!

Have a wonderfully creative week and see you all next Tuesday on the TEAM TRACK!!  Cheers!!
