IT's TEAM TRACK TUESDAY!!! Share your railroad's team track photos here!
TEAM TRACKS are a vital part of daily railroad operations. Team tracks originated in the 19th century when horse drawn cargo wagons pulled up beside freight cars, spotted on a siding, to on/off load their freight. Team tracks are located in remote rural locations, small towns, and large cities. Basically team tracks serve no one particular industry but rather service a variety of industries. Practically any type of freight car, MOW and some passenger equipment can be found on a team track.
As I've been out of town working since last week, I was not able to take a new photos of this week's team track action on the Free State Junction Railway's team tracks in Patsburg. Instead I've dug back into some team track photos from early 2017. As you can see the Railway Express Agency is using the the team track to off load packages on team track one in Lower Patsburg. The last photo sums it all up as Rex sits in the empty REA boxcar relaxing after a job well done.
Feel free to post photos of what's happening on your railroad's team track. Photos of prototype real railroad team track operations are welcome too. Have a wonderfully creative and fun week!! See ya next week on TTT!!
