IT's TEAM TRACK TUESDAY!!!  Share your railroad's team track action pics here!

Team tracks are a vital part of day to day real railroad operations.  Team tracks are siding/spurs which are dedicated to serving several kinds of industries and businesses.  The industries or businesses which team tracks serve do not have their own rail sidings because  they may not be located near a railroad.   For instance a small town newspaper ( pre late 20th century ) may get a weekly box car ( or a few ) , load of newsprint.   This boxcar would be dropped off, by a local freight,  on the nearest team track in the vicinity to the local newspaper.

Team tracks are found in remote rural locations, small towns, and large cities.   Most types of freight cars can be on/off loaded on team tracks.  Some passenger train head end equipment and MOW equipment can also use a team track for on/off loading.

This week on the Free State Junction Railway's team track one in Lower Patsburg, a reffer car load of Baltimore American Beer is being unloaded one barrel at a time using a hand truck, as the forklift is on the blink.

Feel free to post photos of your railroad's team track operations.  Photos of real railroad team track operations are always welcome too.

Have a fun and creative week!  See ya next week on the TEAM TRACK! IMG_7420IMG_7421IMG_7434IMG_7423IMG_7439IMG_7452IMG_7446IMG_7427IMG_7444IMG_7429

Patrick, I really like you Baltimore American reefer, very colorful!

This week on my team track.."Easy does it" the call goes out as these heavy girders are being lifted out of the gon onto the waiting trucks...IMG_1031IMG_1032IMG_1033IMG_1030IMG_1034

There is some concern as the crane strains to lift the girder up to its maximum height. Will it clear the side of the car?

Yes...just barely!

Mark,

I'm intrigued by that nice looking yellow truck in your first photo and the green Mack.  Did you customized the latter?  Great camera angles, too, as usual.

Thank you for the kind words. The yellow truck is a Solido 1940 Dodge that I repainted in Caterpillar Yellow. I also reworked the stake bed, adding individual wood stakes and new upright supports.

The green Mack tractor is completely stock, however I did weather the flatbed of the trailer. Thanks again for your interest. Check this weeks Weekend Photo fun for some bonus pictures from this week team track Tuesday.
