IT's TEAM TRACK TUESDAY. Share photos of action on your railroad's team track.

Team track are a vital part of day to day real railroad operations.  Virtually all types of freight cars can be on/off loaded on team tracks.  MOW and a some passenger train equipment can also utilize team tracks.  Team tracks are non-dedicated sidings or spurs that are usually open to public access and are also known as public delivery tracks.  Non-dedicated mean that do not serve any one specific industry such as a lumber yard, coal yard, etc.

Team tracks are found in remote rural areas, small towns, and large cities.  For instance; a local merchant, in Littletown USA, who sells appliances at her/his store on Main Street has purchased a box car load of major appliances from GE.  GE loads the boxcar at their plant in Erie, Pa. and the car is routed over as many railroad as it takes to get to Littletown USA. Once the boxcar arrives in Littletown, the car is set out at the local team track ... usually located near the railroad station. The appliance merchant is then notified by the railroad's freight agent that the car has arrived and is on the team track.  The merchant brings a truck and crew to pull up along side the boxcar and the unloading process begins.  Once the car is unloaded it is returned to its home railroad or dispatched to pick up another load somewhere else.

This week on team track one located in Lower Patsburg, a boxcar load of high voltage power transformers has been set out by the local freight.  The unloading process has begun.  These transformers are going to the local power company for use a substation.  Some of the older transformers at the substation are being replaced and these high voltage transformers will do the job.  Once the job is done, local kids ride their bikes to the team track and check out the empty boxcar.

Go ahead and post your team track happening.  ALL are welcome participate as long as you have an undesignated siding or spur.  Your layout can be very simple or it can be a highly detailed museum quality layout, either way you are welcome and highly encouraged to participate.  The idea is to have fun   Have a wonderfully fun and creative week

Great scene Patrick!

This week...

"we'll get you loaded and on your way shortly.." the truck driver is assured as he waits for a load of coal tar to be pumped into his rig. The local asphalt mixing plant is waiting on this shipment as repaving and patching season is here. They need this shipment if they are going to keep their schedule...

Little abbrail is celebrating his 7th birthday this week! His gift is being secretly prepared at the Everett Team Track & Community Park. In a slow overnight move, the gift will be carefully taken from here to the team track at Plasticville. There, it is sure to be received with great celebration.

In other news, the Everett Hobos have mysteriously disappeared. In a statement released by Valley Railway Officials, the company claims to have no part in the disappearance. Citing an ongoing investigation, Everett Police are offering no additional information at this time.

Hey everyone - great photos   Happy Birthday to Little Abbrail.

Thomas I hope the missing hobos will be found soon. That must be some special birthday gift riding on that flat car.   Any chance of seeing what it is next week?

Bob - The REA always kept team tracks busy.  I'm glad they are keeping  your busy.

Brain - again I love those vintage team track photos you always seem to come up with.  They teach us so much

Mark - I love that tank trailer  Is that another one of your refurbished Tootsie Toys?  It looks great as does all of your scenes.

See ya all next week on the TEAM TRACK.  Have a wonderfully fun and creative week.
