Its official, My first two day stay at York!

Sorry, I'm 75, and know nothing about "night life". Maybe some of our "wild and crazy" forum members can give you advice.

I have a nice soft pillow for the "night life" at York.

Night life? Granted, I'm 25 but several of us guys go into Abbotstown (about 20 minutes east on Rt. 30) to the Altland House for dinner and booze. Really nice, quiet place.

Otherwise, I plan to sleep, sleep, and sleep some more. You'll be exhausted - and I'm in great health and shape.

You are a lucky fellow! Enjoy the meet.

Sorry, I cannot help you with night time activities. When my buddies and I were staying overnight, if we went out at all, it was just to a local bar.

There's plenty of night life once you're 21.  Until then, not so much.  There's a couple of underage clubs but you need to be 19 to enter.  The movies is about it.

I didn’t really mean nightclubs, more like if there are any dinner parties or stuff like that. Trust me I will get to bed early so I can wake up early for Saturday.

Unfortunately most of the train related activities in the evenings are Wednesday and Thursday. LCCA, Red Lion Club Layout, OGR get together. Likely a few more.

It's not quite like the OGR dinner or other events that are a large "group", but if you eat anywhere in York, you will likely end up in a restaurant with lots of other train people.

For you guys over 21, there is the Oh Yes bar in Ono (pronounced Oh No) PA. It's a 30 minute drive east of Harrisburg. We went to it while at Army Reserve summer camp back in the late '60s.

There is the Ice Cream Social in the Orange Hall promenade starting at 6:30 pm Friday night.  I think it is usually done by 8 pm.  I usually miss it due to having dinner with friends at Round the Clock Diner.

LOTS used to hold their York dinner on Friday nights at the Lyndon Diner, but I haven't seen any announcements regarding this dinner since last Fall.  I don't know if they are still doing it.

Also, don't forget they have free coffee & donuts on the Orange Hall promenade on Saturday morning starting at 7:30 am.

Hotel Room? Why not bring a tent and stay on the grounds? Then you never truly leave the fun 

Seriously though, even if there's not much going on, by the end of the ice cream social you will be ready for bed. 

After a day of walking York, dinner with friends, a beer and bed. Mayhaps some TV before sleeping.
