I am interested in purchasing a reproduction Ives 3245 long hood for an Olympian set.  Curious what other opinions are on the Varney Sirus version ( I am not clear if this is the same as the Rich Art version) from the 70s vs the MTH traditional version.  I have some Mth standard gauge pieces already and while I like the pieces, I feel like the fit and weight of the stamped metal is not close to the same quality as the originals.  I also like the idea of a patina being on the older reproductions from Varney Sirus

While I don’t currently have a layout to run it on, I would like it to run well to use under the tree or on a potential future layout.  Any known issues or opinions on this would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Mike
