Carey thank you for posting.  I have a few older CW sets (nothing this old but 1930 ish) and I showed them to my grandson, age 12.  He allowed as how just watching something go around in a circle would be boring.  How different the young man of 110 years ago, who finally had CONTROL of something and HE could make it go or stop.  The thrill for him was likely incredible.  Today of course, unless the trains fly, sing, dance, shoot fireworks, launch rockets, or whatever...it's boring.  I suppose this is progress but sometimes I wonder.

Thanks again

Don

Fantastic set Carey! I have a few questions. Number one, are the two passenger cars behind the set original or “married”? I ask this because the passenger/parlor car is red, whilst the luggage/passenger “combine” car is green I know Ives had some interesting Mix match sets but I have never seen a set designed like yours. Question number two is, whom produced the two little hill like landscape pieces? They look great with the set.

Hello all ...thank you for your kind words ..this is an original set ..... the mountains and accessories also came with set .... mountains were sold by Ives with a bridge ...   I was given this set when I was 11 ( yes that was a long time ago)  ...being the 3rd owner of the set ..

it was a more simple time back then ...  I'd take the noise the clock work makes over all that electronic  engine clatter any day ...but each to their own ...  I know this will work 100 years from now ..... engines with chips ?????  not so much

cheers Carey
