So I'm looking for lionel CNJ locos during the MPC era. I know they made GP-9's and NW-2's in the Red Baron scheme but am I leaving any out? This isn't including steam like the Blue Comet. Just diesels. Help would be appreciated.

I'm also looking for Lehigh Valley, Reading, Erie Lackawanna, and Penn Central diesels. Just a list of all known engines in these roads would be helpful. I've found GP-9's and RS-2's or 3's in the LV. U boat's and NW2's in the Reading.

In 1977, the 8759-60 Erie Lackawanna GP-9 Power and Dummy combo were produced.

In 1984, they made the Erie Lackawanna SD40 at the head of a really nice top of the line freight set...even though the real railroad had no SD40's. They also made a matching dummy unit in 1989 for double headed trains.

In 1975, they made the 8576 Penn Central GP9.

They also made the unique 8850 Penn Central GG-1 in 1978.

Not sure what Lionel made in the Reading Lines or Reading Company but the Reading used GP-7 diesel engines(not GP-9's like Williams made). I think Lionel made a GP-7 for Reading Lines, not sure on the date.

Also the Reading Lines ran; GP-30, GP-35, GP-39-2 diesel engines. Reading RR never owned a GP-38 diesel engine, unlike the engine made by Williams for Reading.

Reading Lines did have a few(maybe 5) MP-15's in the fleet and some SD-40's and SD-45's. Reading Lines had a few Trainmaster diesel engines in the fleet during the mid 60's and 70's.

My layout is entirely Eastern road and you'd be hard pressed to find some Lehigh Valley engines in that era of Lionel. To my knowledge only a single motor GP7 was made.  As for CNJ Lionel ran a GP7 in this roadname too.  PRR:  F3, GG1 and maybe a jeep.. If you are looking for another CNJ engine don't forget the Fairbanks Morse but those might have been  made in other eras.   I don't recall any Reading engines that were made by Lionel MPC. When I wanted Reading motive power I had to buy a K-Kine RS3 which I still have.

PC was never in the black as far as money, but for some odd reason I do/did like the mating worms livery.  Some PC stuff did come onto the SP as run through.  Treat to see them in the Houston Area.
