Jewel or Junk? Prewar Marx Canadian Pacific Freight Train

That is definitely a jewel, not junk!

It's a Canadian Pacific, not a commodore Vanderbilt.

The lighted passenger cars are hard to find.

Sometimes a small piece of masking tape or aluminum foil can be cut and wrapped around the axle end to make it thicker. The foil actually works pretty well.  My dad has been using this trick for years when he doesn't want to rewheel an entire motor.  Just kinda twist the wheel as you hand press it back onto the axle.  Trial and error until you get it nice and tight.

Junk? I don't see any junk but I do see a pretty neat Marx Canadian Pacific with a combination of freight and passenger cars.

Shows signs of play, but hardly junk.

I agree. In terms of "charm", you can't beat tinplate. The big articulated engine in the background looks awesome, but sometimes it's fun to just play... 🙂

Those 8 wheel freight cars are fairly scarce. Condition is pretty nice on all the pieces albeit with play wear. Definitely a jewel.
No idea on value since I personally don’t collect Marx but I do love the trains they made.

Any Marx tinplate train is a work of art waiting to happen
