Are traction tires for the K-Line MP-15 diesel switcher still available ?
Traction tires from any MP-15 or SW-2 Etc. would likely fit.Nick
The 222-108 is the tire you want.
Or, if you want to try something a little different, check out the 2505 Poly tires.
Check with Brasseur's for K-line parts. They may still have K-line traction tires.
The part you need is K-Line #K2100-X004 or Lionel #620-8815-206; Brasseur should have either or both in stock.
The reason I ask is that there is an MP-15 on Evilbay going for $60.00 w/free shipping. Looking at the photos and reading the description I cannot find any reason not to go for it. It does look like a traction tire is missing.
If you order one, it's going to add $8 to your cost. I'll mail one to you for free if you buy it.
Thanks Rob. I just put in a low ball offer. Let's see what happens.
Modeltrainstuff (M.B.Klein) carried traction tires. I bought a set for my K-line MP 15 a year or so ago. I'd think any well stocked hobby shop would carry them. Try asking for diesel locomotive traction tires. Hope this helps.
I am noticing more K-Line MP-15s on Evilbay lately. All going for very good prices, anywhere from about $40.00 to about $100.00. The vast majority of them have the Kennecott Copper road name. These seem to be the ones with the lowest prices. Were these things made in abundance ?
They were the collector club additions.

They are the KCC collector club editions that were sold by K-Line for $44. I buy them for parts.
