I was late to re-discover these. I guess I was chasing too many other things when they came out. But I recently bought one and really like the size, the convenience of remote operation without an OCS track and smooth operation. Are there issues why Lionel did not continue to produce these or Williams/Bachman did not start producing these like the other K-Line Operating cars? Would anyone else like to see these come back?

Thanks!

I believe  the licensing agreement expired with Lionel.  I have many of these - milk, log dump, ballast dump, barrel / crate.  The best part is that they can be operated anywhere on the layout using the remote.  K-line and Lionel operating operate with either the K-line or Lionel remote.  The Williams/Bachman operating cars only operate using the Williams/Bachman remote as the frequency was changed.  Therefore the remotes are not interchangeable.

I’m with you on the scale size. It would be nice if Lionel offered the operating cars in scale size even with command control eliminating the special track. We scale size operators also like playing with this stuff instead of simply loop running. If the price is a little high who cares. Did we ever think we’d be paying $2500.00 for an engine. I think they would sell.
