I'd like to find out if anyone is still using the old Keller Onboard Sound System. I had purchased two used engines that are equipped as such along with a few hand control units. I don't know what further equipment is needed to make the engines function. Any help would be appreciated. Maybe it would be just as well to remove the controls and revert the engines back to straight DC.

Back in my HO days, I was considering using this system and if I remember correctly he was also developing a command control system. I used to have a cassette tape around here that demonstrated the different sounds that were available at the time. I have often wondered what became of his systems.
At one time there was an internet group out there for folks still using it. it was the first system out there that was mass produced. very expensive at the time $70 for a decoder in the late 70s . it was AC on the rails and motors ran hot every causing a few saved roofs in some of my HO locos.
Thank you Big Jim and Rick for your comments on the Keller Sound Systems. As far as I can tell, the system is long dead. I'm going to remove the decoders from the locos and relegate them to the scrap pile along with the hand-held controllers.
