Dave,

Congratulations on a fantastic article in run 257 of OGR.  We really enjoyed the pictures and the story.  It's hard to believe that you all were able to achieve what you did in such a short amount of time.  It proves that there was an awful lot of talent associated with the construction of the layout.  Boy do I wish we lived close enough to be able to frequent your store.  Hopefully one day we will be able to visit.

We are in the process of trying to plan our layout and it is proving to be frustrating to say the least.  Seeing what you were able to accomplish gives us some encouragement and hope.

Jim,

I hope you and Leslie find your way to Mercer some day!  I might be a little embarrassed for Leslie to see my modeling skills up close. (I am a fan)

I have a wonderful core of friends and family who all selflessly came together for the shop.  That is what is great about this hobby and that is what life is all about!

Thanks,

Dave

Dave:

Enjoyed the afternoon, yesterday April 25, 2012, also recieved my OGR Run 257 yesterday.  Thanks for the opertunity to work on the shop layout project.  Again my best work is hidden beneath a layout.

It is always amazing to see what happens when a group works together.

Great featured article in Run 257 of OGR, Mercer Junction Layout is a Class Act. and so is the train shop and the hospitality, The wooden skirting around the layout and hidden control panels display craftsman ship skills,

It always makes a nice day trip with the Outlet malls and the shops in Volant all within a few miles.and Rachel's and the Iron bridge restaurants it is well worth the trip, and for Ilene the Quilt and Fabric shop directly across from the Train store helps me justify trips more often.

I was able to make a trip to Mercer Junction yesterday and picked up a few new "toys" from Dave. Every time I visit the store it changes with more an more inventory, fantastic!! I also picked up another copy of the latest OGR issue with Dave's store on the cover and even had him autograph the cover!! While I was there a gentlemen by the name of Mike stopped by the store with a awesome coaling facility he built. {Mike, I loved those tilted windows} It is always a pleasure to meet a new train guy, Mike your coaling facility is first class well done!! Hopefully it will not be to long before I get a chance for another visit to Mercer Junction, well worth the trip.

My BTS Cabin Creek Coal Tipple is getting some touch up weathering from Dave M.  It will be on display at Mercer Junction for awhile.

Mike

I just saw the article too.  Congrats, Dave.  I think the article and pictures really do a good job of telling the story and showcasing the excellent job that was done.

One thing I noticed in the background was that the shelves had more stuff than when I visited last year.  That's a good sign!   I'm hoping that I can make a road trip between contracts and do it soon.  I'd like to visit again.
