Well-done videography, Gary. Seeing those neat-looking Berks reminds me of K-Line's contribution, and how they made New England road names, e.g., B&M, B&A, as well. Were your Berks upgraded or are they original K-Line TMCC/Railsounds and smoke? They look and sound as good as it gets.

If I remember right, Lionel and K-Line were using the same Korean contractor for diecast models in early 2000s? And then Lionel acquired K-Line's tooling and products after a lawsuit circa 2005 or so, making Lionel by K-Line for a while.

All freight cars are getting the kadee treatment.  The milk cars at least the ones from the 2000’s I’m on the fence about doing.  Passenger cars sooner or later.  No plans to do the the steamers, as they couple just fine to kadee and I like remote uncoupling.  Diesels with fixed pilots will get kadee.

Gary and I have corresponded for years. We first met at Charles Ro many years ago. Sort of an open house and K-Line was there showing off the pre production Berkshires. We both had them on order.
Gary, you have run those Berks. for quite some time. Getting close to 20 years.  Mostly doubleheaded but always pulling a long consist, mostly Atlas cars which do carry some weight. Through the years I know they’ve had electronic upgrades such as EOB. I don’t ever remember you having an issue with the drivetrain. For all the talk of cheap motors mounted in the wrong direction. They seem to be holding up pretty well.

For those that have been on the Forum a long time. I’m going to throw out the name Les Line. He was a faithful K-Line supporter who liked NYC and B&A Steam. I don’t know what it was but he had some connection. Those of us that model these roads are grateful for what influence he had with K-Line. They didn’t offer many scale models but we got a Hudson, Berkshire and Tank engine from them. All highly detailed, priced good and have stood the test of time.

for some folks, yes, they hold up, it depends on the job you ask them to do……I believe Gary regularly double heads his Berks, and I’m pretty sure he’s mentioned that before on a topic about Kline’s itty bitty motor in a scale sized steam locomotive…….Kline’s with cruise can go flaky with that puny motor, and I’ve witnessed several take a dump…..no doubt Kline hit the nail on the head with all of their scale offerings, where they kept the price point down was in the cheaper drive trains…..it’s not just talk, it’s fact,….ask a Kline Hudson to pull a real string of heavyweights ( 8 or 10 at least) and it ain’t happening, for long periods anyways……
