I took your advice and changed the track plans to allow for two reverse loops. The reasoning for the switches added to the bottom left between the red and blue line and not the top right, is that the l blue line is going to be elevated on a hill about 3-4" above the red line, so I cannot run any switches from the blue to red line in that back area. I am trying to stagger the heights to make things more dimensional. Unfortunately, on the reverse loop I had to go from O-45 to O-36 in the top left area. I would have loved to keep the O-45 in order to open that route to larger engines and cars. I might re-measure my room and see if there is any room for adjustment on the table up there. I do want to say thank you for everyone's advice and comments, especially Dave, Alex, and Greg.

Don't forget that you can park the train on the passing siding and run up to turn just the engine around.
Also, make sure you plan to be able to remove part of the mountain so you can get at the 2 switches you're going to cover.
When you think that you are close, run the simulator. menu tab >Extensions>Model trains Simulator. Just build a short train and run it. When you get comfortable with the controls, do a fresh start and note the time to take laps, drop off cars, run the entire layout, change a train from track to the r-loop-turn around-and come back, etc.
It gives you a good idea of the play value or what a run session would be like.
The refinements are improving that.
LOL I still can't get past the visual block of the alcove r-loop area with the tunnels. Watch the simulator in 3D to see that the train gets lost. I know, you like the mountains there.

I didn't notice that until I looked at a 3D view of the latest version. Chances are a train and most of the scenery back there will never be seen from the viewing position because it will be obscured by the mountain. I also don't like covering the switches unless the mountain can be easily removed.
