Has anyone heard when this was going to be made?  I may be the only one on the Forum who ordered a set.  When I last posted about this set, it received less than stellar comments.  I sent in a down-payment to reserve a set, but never heard anything beyond that.

Just wondering if someone knows what the current status is.

Well, the LCCA site says "Delivery expected late Q3" so it looks like it will be at least another 6-7 months before they're available.

It looks like a great set to me, but the $525 tab is a healthy chunk of change.

That's for a LC+ Geep and dummy and traditional B/W. In comparison, for example, LC+ Geeps sell for $280, and Neil Young edition F-3 A-A sets sell for $420.

I suspect that unless someone is really into B&M, that purchase price is going to be a significant barrier.

I question whether the price is really that much out of line for limited production run from Lionel.

Break it down and you're paying $400 for the powered and dummy GP7s, $100 for the smoking bay window caboose and $25 for shipping.

I agree.  I don't find the price out of line at all.  I like the paint scheme and the colors.   A few years ago there was another offered, just the loco, but it was never produced to my knowledge.  Now, if they offered matching passenger cars, that would be tops for me!

It is difficult to ask a control question, when the item has not even been produced.  I believe this forum was created by the management to give people interested in Lion Chief and Lion Chief Plus and other RC systems a place to correspond.  I do not believe any specific limitations were initially imposed.
