I've got two LCRXs that no longer acknowledge any TMCC signal. They are in dummy units and only the lights in the unit come on. Will not take a set or any other signal from the Cab-1. Are these repairable and, if so, where do I look to see what's wrong?

Well, almost anything is technically repairable.  The question really come up if it's worth the effort. You can get a new one from Lionel for $38.

The one thing you can try is tuning the coil on these.  I have seen them out of tune, just like the old TMCC Command base and the older R2LC's with the coil.  Later TMCC receivers used a ceramic filter to eliminate tuning drift issues.  Dale Manquen used to have a section on his site about tuning the command base, the same applies to these units.

You can also drop in an R2LC with a steam motherboard to connect it and have all the functions of a dummy unit.

Finding out what is happening on the RF side of those is not easy, I tinkered with some R2LC's years ago to try to revive them.  I managed to build two working ones from half a dozen dead ones, and unless I figure my time at about $5/hr, I would have been better off just buying new R2LC boards!
