Led question

Instead of LED tape, why not use separate LED's?  They come in many diameters and colors.  Just drill the correct size hole, push the lamp into the hole, add a drop of glue, and PRESTO!

@tstark I would second Arthur's suggestion for individual LEDs, but if LED tape is what you'd prefer for ease of installation or otherwise, then mounting them as you mentioned wouldn't cause any problems for the LEDs.

Thanks, I already have the multi colored tapes . I only want to use the blue. I will experiment with this method before buying more leds Tstark

While the 1/8" hard board may not seem deep, when I've done similar LED projections, I drip clear-drying glue into the hole to make a lens which gives a finished look.  I've even mixed food coloring with the glue so the "lens" has the appropriate color - for example blue food coloring in your case.

Here's an example of a school bus (about O-gauge) where red and yellow food coloring was mixed with clear glue to make the colored red and yellow lenses.  The lens are lit by surface-mounted LEDs just like those used on LED strips.

Looks great, love the synchronized sounds.  I'm lazy and I just use colored LED's.
