Legacy 1.51 and R100 Issue

While a bit of a format glitch, it really doesn't matter what you call the locomotive, so call it a diesel to get it to operate correctly.

When you address a loco it only comes up as the name you type in anyway, it does not indicate diesel or steam.

Did you  have R100 as a choice for electrics prior to the upgrade?

Since the ERR boards do not have engine specific operations, Steam or diesel would be the basic choice.

The Electric and "specialty" engine type selections are more geared to engines that Lionel has produce that may raise and lower pantographs or trigger electric specific sounds. 

Did the same thing for me when I put in my HHP-8. I just used diesel as the choice and all is well.

The V1.51 is working as designed.  Select Diesel or Steam.  Electric is reserved for Lionel Legacy Locos only; as the commands are slightly different "behind the scenes" and as a result would cause side effects if Electric & R100 was allowed.

BTW: we will be releasing v1.52 in the next few weeks, few minor updates and preparing the support of the iPad Layout Control System app to be ready shortly.

Jon, thanks for that little tidbit!  I wondered why I had a problem when I selected Electric for my ERR upgraded EP-5, now I know.

Now that I know to call my EP-5 and GG-1 a diesel, they work fine.

Did switch it to a diesel and can now access R100. I guess it only makes a difference if it is a Lionel engine. I know that to get the correct icons you need to make a specific choice in the case of station sound diners and other cars.

One recent development has to do with setting up a lashup with the GG1 and a Lionel PRR Congressional Station Sounds diner. Some how when I operate the GG1 as a Train there is a speed limitation. Not a big problem but the speed restriction goes away if it is operated as an engine.

When addressed as a train, before any other function is accessed, look in the bottom right hand corner of the numerical keypad.  The speed limit icon will be darkened.  Press and hold until the display reads speed limit cleared or something to that effect and the icon brightens.
