New to Legacy. Adding to DCS. Want to upgrade or at least make sure everything is on latest update before using. Currently 1.52,. First question is do I need to update? I have a CSX 21" diner sounds car that I just purchased. 2nd question is I saw that the LSC Utility is V2.0 and the Update for 990 is v1.61. I am Assuming that I need the 1.61 which is uploaded into one of the black modules that were in the bock via the 2.0 utility.  Third, I also have the CSX F40PH which has an orange module to load the engine into the remote. I watched Dave Olson in the video and he said they no longer ship engines with the orange remote. True? Mine came with one. Anyhow I just want to do things correctly. Thank You.

Yes I would update to make sure the passenger cars work properly.  1.61 is the current CAB2 version and 1.60 is the current base version.  Both must be updated using the LSU software and the black module.  Create a base module>update base>reuse black module for CAB2.  I typically do the base first and then the Cab2. The instructions to do this are fairly straight foreward but Eric of Eric's Train has a very good video on creating modules and doing upgrades.

Eric's Video is below.

The Orange modules are being phased out.  A few engines still seem to show up with them but as a general rule most do not.  You can use the module that came with your engine.
