I received my new Lionel Legacy UP Genset locomotive a couple of days ago:

When I assigned number 27 in my Legacy remote, the locomotive was already set up! I didn’t enter the information, yet it was there correctly, including Legacy, Legacy RS, etc.
How did it know? Just very curious. I do not have a sensor track.

Did it have the name and road number? I believe Legacy Diesel is the default. Without the module, which Lionel no longer supplies, running it over a sensor track, or entering it manually there is no way for the CAB2 / Base to get that name / number information.

I think I just figured out what happened:
When I upgraded to version 7.0, I must have added the UP Genset while the Legacy base was connected to my computer, since I knew it would be arriving soon!
