I am having a problem running my Legacy engines.  I set them up each Christmas and this year I’m having an issue.  To start, my Legacy controller is up to date (1.70).  I have an oval of track and no shorts are noted by my ZW controller.  I power the legacy controller first and then turn on my ZW (with the wire from the Legacy to the ZW post).  I then power up the ZW by engaging 88 to power my track. When I put any of my Flyer Legacy engines on the track and engage their address they light up but they go forward or backward only 1 inch and stop.  I notice my U33 cab light keeps blinking.  I can get the horn and bell to work but this is driving me crazy as to what I’m doing wrong and why the engine will not move.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I assume the logic behind that would be the assumption that it is a signal loss?  I thought since the legacy unit had an antenna that the signal did not go thru the track.  I will give it a try.  I just have a feeling that the blinking light inside of the engine cab means something that I am not aware of.

Thank you for your suggestion.

The product number of this engine might be helpful.  I'm not sure if this has the diagnostic codes for the cab flashing but we maybe able to tell from the product number.

There is only one Legacy CAB2 display, it's monochrome.  However, the text is actually blue, hence the "blue line".

The train brake  can feel pretty "free", how about a picture of the CAB2 screen for the engine you're having the issue with.

That's an internal issue with the engine, the blinking is an error code.  A single continuous blink is drive motor stall.

I checked the manual and this particular American Flyer engine doesn't list the error codes in the manual.  I wasn't sure if this was truly and error code or some other issue.  Being AF by Lionel, I'm not as familiar with there setup.
