I'm highlighting the custom inserts I made for the Menard's billboard I recently purchased (in order to qualify for the free lighted '48 Ford panel van offer they recently ran -- it's the black and white police van near the billboard). One side is a welcome to passengers arriving at the elevated trolley line stop nearby (using the same photo I use for my posts, of the Baltimore & Annapolis Short Line stop that used to provide rail transportation to and through our community, now converted to a bike trail), and the other side features a collage of (most of) my younger grandkids/great-grandkids! Enjoy!

About 2 years ago, I decided to build a small 4’ x 4’ Lionel 027 layout for my first train set that I received for Christmas in 1956. So I made the layout similar to the type of little layouts people made back then, and I run my Xmas train, a Lionel 1615 0-4-0 switcher and work train, and sometimes other trains of that time on this little layout. I decided to add a couple of billboards, but I didn’t want to use the printed billboards that I got with my train set in 1956. Instead, I got the idea to photograph the covers of my two 1956 Lionel catalogs, crop the photos to fit, and make two Lionel billboards.  These are my billboards.

Some years ago when I started to wire my layout there was a great debate on STAR vs BUSS wiring for DCS.

I'm not trying to open that debate again, so let's not.  But @OGR CEO-PUBLISHER Alan Arnold helped me design a very good BUSS system that worked for DCS.

As a thank you and homage, I made this Billboard for Arnold Electrical Engineering.

Ron, Terrific way to pay homage to your DCS mentor. Nicely done.

Here are a few. Some are on the Standard Gauge Upstairs Layout, some on the Standard Gauge Main Floor Layout. I basically doubled the Lionel O-scale design on the computer, redid the bottom color as desired and put in new text and pics to suit. Working with the local Office Depot print department staff member. Frames made out of wood.
