In a shameless rip-off of Super O Bob’s Pennsy post, I’m calling for equal time for the New York Central! Show us what you’ve got!
(The attached shot is NOT from my collection! Lol...it’s a scene from Hitchcock’s North by Northwest).

Norton that is gorgeous! Details please!
The greatest Lionel model of the Hudson, the famous 700e, this one is all original and is from 1938.

Westbound New York Central pulling into the Syracuse NY station.
Daniel, that is a national treasure! Thanks for sharing it!
JR Junction...amazing! Is that setup in your store? I must come visit next time I’m in Syracuse!
Pat...she’s a beauty!
Paul...very prototypical! Love it! Looks like she's headed for Grand Central.
This film was taken during a public preview of our new Syracuse train station model at a train show in Rochester several years ago. We participated with the Flower City Tinplate Trackers by adding our modules to their layout.
Part of our Syracuse Station modules are set up behind the store in the club room, however it is currently undergoing refurbishment with the express baggage and mail platform five being built and added on. The club meets on Thursday nights and has several public open houses during the winter months. They also sponsor the Great New York State Model Train Fair held at the State Fairgrounds each fall.
And once again, all I got... same old, same old.
D500...fantastic weathering! Thank you
Melgar...great shot! Thank you
Ted...Empire State Express! That's all you need, brother! LOVE the buildings!!
Pete..I knew that couldn't be stock...way too perfect! And the Alco is just as good! I've never seen better!!
Pat...beautiful!!
Pete...your K Line custom E8 is clearly superior to my $1000 Lionel Legacy version. Great work!
This New York Central passenger train is made up of old equipment. The locomotive is a "lightning stripe" P2b electric #223 made by MTH with PS1 electronics and a BCR. These locomotives originally ran on 3000-volt DC at Cleveland Union Terminal and were later brought to New York City and Grand Central Terminal where they were converted to run on 660 volts DC. The passenger cars are an MTH Premier Madison set.

Great photos! Keep 'em coming!
Paul...2 of the very best!
Melgar...LOVE that observation car shot!
Pat....that is one crowded yard! Gonna be some delays on the main line tonight!
Not the most famous New York Central power but a good fit on my 10’-by-5’ layout. I consulted “Steam Locomotives of the New York Central Lines” (Edson and Vail, 1997) and did not find a drawing or photograph that looks like this 0-4-0. It appears the New York Central had few 0-4-0 switchers and retired them early in the twentieth century in favor of Class B 0-6-0 types.

The first picture is the beginning of my NYC Hudson collection. MTH ESE, K Line 5343, Williams Dreyfus, Lionel with Vandy tender. The second picture is my latest addition, Lionel 5344 re numbered to 5429 with matching Century Club PT tender representing 5429 later in life with no shrouding. The onboard cab chatter is also for 5429.
NYC has the largest representation in the eastern division of my model railroad world. Hudsons, Mountains, switchers, F units, passenger trains, and rolling stock. I plan to make a Pacemaker caboose cam this year by repainting on of Lionel's current units to boot!
Rolland
Rolland...impressive roster!
Old 999....once the fastest thing on wheels!

I just recently got my first New York central engine, J3a Hudson #5433 and 50th anniversary set from 2002. I'm most likely going to modify it into a de-streamlined 5429. Hopefully I'll be able to acquire another Hudson soon.

How can ANYONE have ONE New York Central engine??? A few more - and again, apologies for the bad photos...
And, finally, an MPC era NYC F3 A-A and aluminum passenger cars.

Great videos of a great layout, Jim. But I have to say, the Dreyfuss Hudson running so slow is somewhat sad!!!
Thanks for sharing.
P.S. Who made the really nice cars with the Dreyfuss???
Don you're killing me!! You have every train I've ever wanted!!
Dave P...that's my kind of layout!! Go NYC!

Fantastic collection! Thanks for sharing!
FWIW: I'm a closet NYC fan. I'll never have any of their power, but I WILL have some NYC rolling stock plying the rails of the KC&G in both the Ozarks and at Kansas City!

A Niagara, a Hudson, an SD70ACe, an F3, and a LionMaster Hudson!
Having grown up in New York City, Grand Central Terminal and New York Central electric motors have interested me from those days to this. This P2b electric #223 is an MTH Premier model with die-cast body and PS1 - about twenty years since I bought it. On my 12'-by-8' layout.

Only have inventory pics, still, due to "under construction" of layout and lack of newer pics. Only showing motive power due to extent of passenger and freight consists I can put together.
Thanks to all of you for posting your excellent photos and videos. Your model work is great as are your photography and/or videography. I will never be able to see your excellent layouts in person, so this is a way for them to come to me. Thank you for going to the trouble for our enjoyment and inspiration.
Nicely done Will. Tell us more about the paint work on the passenger cars please.
Pete
Skip, wonderful shots and layout. Thanks Don
Skip, wonderful shots and layout. Thanks Don
I had bought the Hudson at my LHS, and could not find any aluminum cars at a reasonable price. So I got a different road name, and painted them with Rustoleum spray cans that were a reasonable color match. I did the striping with r/c model 1/16" wide striping, an the lettering with Woodland Scenics dry transfer lettering. I clear coated it with Rustoleum satin clear. I'm really pleased with how it turned out.
Incredible Will. You are a craftsman for sure and using common hardware store items to create these. Hats off to you!
Pete
Skip....I was wondering when you were joining the party!.....beautiful stuff buddy!.....and a NYC thread wouldn’t be complete with out a trip up the Put ....nice beautiful pics Peter!..........Pat
