I really like the elevated trestle system.  I have not seen that before.  Which system or mfg is it if you dont mind?  I am trying to figure out my track plan and would like an elevated track as part of it.

Thank you

This was designed and 3D printed by me. Each arch is made up of 4 pieces glued together (plus the 2 adjustable feet) and the side girders were printed in 8 inch sections pinned and glued together.

You might be able to reproduce in wood or some other medium depending on your skills or if you know someone who would print them for you I could give you the needed files.

Here is one that I made probably 20 years ago (with the help of a skilled friend) all wood

Of course there are companies that make similar products.

I've often been asked to make items for people but don't do that.

Been working on rehabbing these two OO sets, the 004 semi scale set I found on an online ad page and made a road trip about a week ago to go get.  The 003 full scale(mini 700e) I found thru another model train forum.  It was missing the motor, E unit and the tender is missing its coal pile.  I am swiping parts off the semi scale engine to restore the mini 700e back to its full glory.  Only foobie will be its 003T tender will have the Whistle from the other tender, so it will be a 003W with wrong markings.   Here is a pic of all my Lionel prewar OO, and the mini 700e.   ADallmyOOmini700e

IMG_6613I am working on a shelf scene.  It is loosely based on the now gone double snowshed at the mouth of the big hole just beyond Norden California.  SP then, now UP.  It features the double snowshed I built some time ago. I cut 2 inch foam as the backing for my rock wall.  I bought a backdrop from Scenic Express and am painting some to fill in.  Rocks are hydrocal out of rock molds. Using "Iron Grip" 100% silicone to stick the rocks.IMG_6601IMG_6602  Tracks will be live.  Need to figure out lighting and brush.  I plan a couple of Ponderosa pines to transition the great artistry of the backdrop with  my meager attempts.  Having fun!  I have spent more time studying the scene and thinking than the actual doing!

This reply is a follow on to my previous reply.

Built Rite Toy Village Set #556 was made by the Warren Paper Co,in the 30's or 40's. The completed set has large tabs that can be seen in the completed models. The set consisted of 6 houses, a drug store, a fire station, a railroad station, a school, a church, and a business block. The scale of the buildings is about HO size.

This reply has to do with the business block portion of the Toy Village. I scanned 5 of the 16 buildings and increased the scale by about 3 times. I printed the buildings and fastened them to a board to use as a background as can be seen in the last picture.

At various times on this forum, I've talked about restorations that I am going to do.  Now I'm actually DOING one.  Here's the first, an American Flyer 3301 tender.  A friend who had no idea what to do with it gave it to me, and it's been just sitting on the shelf since last summer.  I've just taken it apart for shining and painting.  Here it is.

from what I have been able to figure out from my Greenburg AF prewar book and a couple of catalogs, this is the tender that went with the 427 locomotive in 1939.

Here are all of the parts masked and ready for painting/shining.2020-05-09 14.54.03

The wheels seem to have been painted only in the center with the treads left as bare metal.  So I have masked the flanges and wheel tread.  The back side was rust colored but cleaned up to reasonable appearance with wire brushing.  The brass fittings are ready for Brasso.

Now I've done the painting and brass cleaning.  I'll show the results tomorrow.

I built a rack/cart to organize power for a temporary layout. It holds four Power House 180's,two TPC's and a Command Base. The wires are all tucked in behind with a power strip. None of the long wires on the 180's were cut, just tied op neatly in the back. After picking it up and feeling the weight, wheels were added to turn the rack into a cart
