Hey folks,

I’d appreciate any help with an issue on my new t1. I don’t usually buy Lionel locos so I might be doing something wrong.

product: RBMN "WE THE PEOPLE" LEGACY T1 #2102 SKU: 2031300

Issues: Using the iOS app/Bluetooth, I put engine in reverse and the back up light on the tender blinks erratically.

See the video: https://youtu.be/m4i0bCIrpuI

any thoughts?

Thanks,

Tony

Tony,

My guess is that the backup light is not properly seated. You can open up the tender and try to repair yourself, should be a relatively simple job. Take pictures of the tender as you go along just in case you have any trouble reassembling the tender. The light could of been jarred loose during shipping.

Good luck with your engine I have seen a few T1 videos and they look and sound great. If you cannot fix the problem you may want to contact Lionel or Alex M or GRJ who unlike me know what they are doing with repairs.

This same issue was reported on the new b6sb locs. It appears to be a bug in the processor code. I have the same problem with my b6sb. If I run it under legacy, the backup light works perfectly. It's only an issue with bluetooth control and command control signal is not present. If I start my b6sb with legacy and then use my phone to control it, the backup light works correctly.

UPDATE/RESOLUTION -  With Legacy command control, there was no issue. So the solution was to buy legacy command control.

That's not a solution.  I would get a hold of Lionel and get the Bluetooth issue resolved.  You shouldn't have to shell out $$ on a Legacy system, although it's pretty dang good way to run trains, if you are expecting it to operate properly on BT control.

It was a bug with the B6 and T1 where if there's no command base present, the tender light would flash indicating that it wasn't getting a TMCC signal. I tested Bluetooth a lot in these, but never thought to unplug my command base!

We have code for the B6 and T1 available to customer service, so if you send the engine in, we can reflash it and it'll be fixed. We found the issue before the GS was made, so that and all other steam engines will not have the issue.

Now that is a solution!  Thanks for chiming in Dave!
