I accidently discovered the voice commands showing up in the Bluetooth Lion Chief control app in my iPhone and it worked on a little Lionel Flyer S gauge switcher I had bought. I went to try the Universal APP in Hotspot mode but the hotspot mode is not working at all and I await a response from @Dave Olson

So I finally found where I had a Bluetooth Lion Chief O gauge GP engine to see if voice commands worked and much to my surprise they do. So, my question is what are the specific words for all of the commands? Also the direction command works but the app tends to hang up on that command.

Thanks in advance!

Almost exactly my experience:  just received my FlyChief Berk, and discovered the voice commands.  Which also hang-up on the direction changes, and sometimes cause the system to drop the link to the loco (easy to re-establish) when it hangs -up.

I found that there is a help feature that will list some(?) of the commands on the app screen.  Using an iPhone.  I recall that if you say "help" to the app, you will get this short list, which may not be complete.

I am not using because this feature remains unreliable.  A first look at this emerging tech, kudos to Lionel for innovation!

The Lionel Voice Commands

1A Controls

Just click the Voice Icon and follow the prompts on the screen. No manual needed. Just have fun. I am running a Pere Marquette 1223.

2A Voice Commands

3A Volume Direction

4A Dialog Couper Bell

5A Horn:Whistle Smoke Sequences

6A Smoke Seqeunces Other

Above are all the voice commands. It even does voice commands that are not on the list. Just say anything and it will show your words in the dialog box.

Voice command is a function of the phone, not the loco.  The app just taps into the phone's ability to listen for words.  In order to customize commands to a specific loco, they would have to update the app with the custom words tied to some unique metadata from that loco.

According to Howard Hitchcock there are phrases that are unique to set themes such as the Star Trek set.  Whether they work specifically to that set or all of them is yet to be seen.

Hi Brendan

1 locos

This screenshot shows 3 locos on my main lines. You can slide the loco menu left and right to see your locomotives. Each loco after it is linked up has it owns list of commands. Each locomotive will return to what you left the settings at.

Example: Smoke may be turned off on one locomotive but left on for the other. As you link up each loco they have similar commands but it remembers where they were left at from the last run session.

That's good that they have a unique id for different road names.  in that case, I wonder if they have the app call out to Lionel web server to get loco data instead of updating the app?

I have got to say that I am giddy like a schoolboy on this app! I tried it with S gauge, O gauge, newer Bluetooth, and I even dragged out an older Lionchief 0-8-0 with no Bluetooth and used the universal remote in hotspot mode and it worked perfect! My favorite commands are the departure, arrival, and grade crossing. Just awesome! This to me is the best Lionel 2021 item, and the cost cannot be beat!

I suggest we post any unknown, aka Easter egg commands,  and unpublished but we find to share!

I typed out the commands as a document to print out and for having a copy to use as reference when using the iPhone App. These voice commands are from the screen shots provided previously by trainroomgary and might be helpful to some, instead of using the ‘help’ option on the App.

I have to say I had little interest in it, after giving it a try, I was impressed.

Nice Job, Dave Olson!

Just played around with this feature with my daughter. She loves it. Looking forward to the custom voice announcements she can do when that comes out.  Lionel doing some cool stuff here getting young generation involved with Bluetooth connectivity and app driven operation and custom commands and features.

Well, this is a fun feature. Works fine on my RS-3 as long as I enunciate clearly. I wish it had southern accent adjustability. Those who mentioned sluggish response may not have noticed the BlueTooth app capability to adjust momentum. If the operator sets the momentum lower the engine responds more quickly to the stop command.
My Lionchief Plus NW-2 doesn’t have BlueTooth. That wasn’t a consideration when I acquired it but now…

I just received a Lionchief B&A Hudson. I will unpack it and try VoiceControl on it.
