Hello,Due to a layoff from work,I am forced to part with my 1981-

#8100 Norfolk& Western "611" J Class Locomotive with Long Stripe Railsounds Tender.

This version is identical in everyway to the postwar #746,featuring magne-traction,but instead of #746 on the side,it has the more prototypical #611 on the side.

This engine also features a primitive form of steam blowdown, with tubes leading down from the smoke unit to the sides of the engine cylinders. The smoke unit works fine, and the effect is very cool.

At some time, this tender was upgraded to a rail sounds tender, with the hall effect sensor controlling the sounds. It features a very loud whistle, steam chugging sounds and a "doppler effect" of the train going by at high speed!!!

I am only selling this because I am returning to work, and need to pay a overdue phone bill,as I need my phone for work.I hate to see it go,I paid $575.00 for this engine a little over a year ago. The train was serviced by an authorized Lionel dealer when I got it,and it runs like new.

It has a few areas where the black has worn off,but it is all in the right places and could EASLILY be touched up to Like New Appearance .

I am pricing it to sell,at $340.00 or Best Offer. This is a lot of train for little money.I could easily get $150.00 for the railsounds tender alone, but my loss is your gain.

Will entertain all reasonable offers. I have to keep my phone on for work,as I work in an on call basis,or this baby would not be going anywhere.I guess I'll try to find another one after I get back to work for a couple months.

Contact me at my e-mail address which is in my profile if interested.

Thank you,and may you enjoy this train as much as I have. It's a hauler, and still has VERY STRONG magne-traction.I have had it pulling over 50 heavy postwar cars before with no problem.
