I’m hoping to get some info on the Jupiter/ UP “General” that is offered in the middle of the catalog...  are these legacy? LC 2.0?  How much?  I’ve been waiting for these to be made in better quality than “starter set” and i’m Hoping these fit the bill....  any help would be MUCH appreciated.  Thank you!

Looks like regular LionChief.  I see no mention of LC+or LC 2.0.

Two "General-style" locomotives, Jupiter and 119, "Gold decorated" universal remote, Bluetooth,  MSRP $549.99.

Also, there's a mention of two hand-crafted brass models to be announced in May.

Rusty

I hope one of those brass offerings is an East coast locomotive a la PRR since there is a bunch of New York Central stuff. Perhaps a PRR/ N&W k3? Or a K5!

After going through the the catalog, I might get a up 8044 Greyhound es44 but probably nothing else. I liked the the bipolars, especially the polar expExpr version, but I can't imagine spending $1300 for one of those when I could get a beautiful j3a for the same price. I also liked the cp FAs but i think Lionel should've made some f7s and sold the cp royal canadian train. I am still waiting for an affordable cp es44 or a cp ac4400, the cp is the only class 1 rr you can't make a somewhat realistic modern consist for for at an acceptable price.

I also am waiting for a Lionel CP ES44.  I really was bummed out there was no CP yet...  I am still waiting...

Really...  at the end of the day, this is not a big deal.  So what if a few hobbiests get a peek.

If it was really that big a deal, Lionel wouldnt have printed all the catalogs and shipped them early.  Its in an attempt that the customer copy catalog is at the dealer WHEN the catalog is unveiled!

I applaud Lionel for trying to do this.  It stinks when you get the paper copy weeks after it goes online live...

There is nothing better than opening the pages of a paper copy of a new lionel catalog, before seeing it online first (like the good old days)...

I'm going now to train room and drool over this new catalog now.  Good thing i picked up 2 copies.

So Lionel shows concern about how exactly the catalog release is done, sends instructions to OGR to remove pics by members here of the catalog, but still, some kid has posted it all over YouTube.  Lame.

They have asked a lot of other site administrators and moderators to do the same thing, and I assume most or all are willing to comply to help them out in what rather obviously was a coordination goof-up of some sort. I, for one, had no problem complying with their reasonable request and can easily wait until Wednesday to see the new catalog. This is a small industry, and I personally (and professionally) feel it serves us all well if we try to work together.

I certainly would like a J3a. Its about time! But if they paint the smoke box with that thick grey nasty paint, I am going to mask and repaint it. Can some one talk to Ryan about this and fix it?!

I 100% agree about the nasty silver or gray smoke box paint. But, I’m not confident enough in my painting skills to paint a brand new $1500 engine. So, unless there is some sort of guarantee ahead of time that the proper graphite color will be used, I’m going to sit this one out.

Yea that. What really has me giving the Hudson second thoughts is it going to have the parting line going right down the middle on top of the engine. Oh boy .
