I can't find the thread and I don't remember what was covered in it but what is everyone wanting to see in the new lionel catalog? I'm hoping for some subways, MU cars and a Legacy genesis. Also, has anyone heard rumors of what may be in the catalog? I know in Trainworlds Lionel update, Ryan said the typical PRR, NYC items but what is confirmed if anyone knows.

A sincere appreciation letter to Mike Wolf for pushing the Industry/hobby forward. From contractor to competitor, and yes litigant, Mike Wolf's effort forced Lionel to innovate and catch up. Which they did extremely well.

Beyond that I am always hoping for a large Reading Company steam locomotive that is not a T-1.  With the future status of dcs equipped locomotives currently in flux, the right piece of equipment might make me switch back, but the price point has to be right.

Would really, really love to see a Lionmaster PRR T1 again. Always thought that was such a cool locomotive and given I can't afford nor run (curve limitations) the scale version such as MTH produced, this is the best.

Fingers crossed, especially given Lionmaster products reappearing under the LC+ umbrella.

A device to enable control of LC/LC+ locos from the Cab-1 and Cab-2, and a device that will enable control of TMCC/Legacy locos by the Universal Remote.  As Ryaninspiron has discussed and shown possible.

Retrofit kits so that LC, or, preferably LC+ can be put in conventional locos or locos with command systems that may have little or no future (sorry about that).

One tinplate or similar standard gauge loco and a few freight cars in standard gauge.

A subway set.

At least one postwar remake with LC 2.0+ that is affordable to most hobbyists.

I agree. Especially on the 2.0 set. The F3 set was very nice but not 1k nice.

I would like to see.........

Scale open sided auto racks.

Scale enclosed auto rack with sounds.

The Lionscale (Weaver tooling) actually produced. Especially the wood chip hoppers I have been waiting for for several years now.

Maybe a couple of 0-4-0 or 0-6-0's made for Buffalo Creek railway. Also a 6 pack of Buffalo Creek Railway boxcars.

Wtshful thinking but it is all right to wish it may come true...........................Paul 2

Ditto. I went back and forth on that one many times. I really wanted to buy that set but that price point was, er, out there. Actually made the decision easier in the end.

Many of us have been calling for some sort of nod to PW or PW-inspired in the recent catalogs. Trying again, Lionel.

We were talking over here, but who's keeping score.

As for what, well, if it's steam, I'll like it. Diesel, maybe not, electric, we'll see. All anyone can really do is hope, and that goes for so many levels. See what comes I suppose.

Landsteiner nailed it:

As for me- anything PRR; especially an LC Plus 2.0 GP-7 or 9.  As far as I know- the last Pennsy GP-9 was 2015 (SKU: 6-82792) in Legacy.  They don't pop up for sale very often.

Ron, the T1, Class A, and Dreyfuss are all waiting for some magical tooling to appear. If by some small miracle one of those three pop into the catalog that are scale, look out. Hopefully if they do manage to do so, hopefully they won't have them all in the same catalog at the exact same time with as many different versions(including the purple cow version that was never intended for the public to see). That would definitely make a lot of people happy to see any of those three produced. I know I have said that the Dreyfuss I would order each version(except the purple cow) that is based on the real deal. I don't want any fantasy schemes of it.

One thing I am sure that will probably be making its way around the rotary is probably Y steam engines. Was it 2012 or so for Y3's, and 2015 & 2016 for Y6? I can't remember what the other locomotives that where produced around the same time, H7's? I think that was what they were, or something someone will correct me on.

Gee.   Why do posts like this always seem to crop up about a month after the prior catalog hit the streets?  Was that one not good enough?

Maybe what they want was not there.  Always what’s next if you don’t see what you want.  That’s the only thing I can think of.  Of course boredom with no train shows gets to you.  Catalogs are the train show since Romona Corona came into town.
