Good morning. The coil on my Lionel burning tower burnt out: has anyone have experience replacing one? How to remove the old one and replace?

Are you asking about item 12768 produced in 1990 and 1993? If you are the exploded diagram and parts list is on the Lionel Website under Support and Replacement parts. Just type in 12768 and you will see it. They also made items 14104, 14201 and 24232 which do not have diagrams on the Website and I believe used a different mechanism.
