Lionel 6-27660 George HW Bush Caboose

Hi Larry.

Saw that one. He's about $75 over what I think it's worth, but it's only the third one I've seen up on eBay. I paid $110 for mine. I'd say keep your eyes open. Who knows? MTH might produce one down the road since they've released UP4141 twice in Premier and once in Rail King.

Larry, I've run the numbers for the three on eBay and compared it to what I paid for mine. Average ask/sell on eBay $205. I paid $90. Splitting the difference I would be willing to let go of mine for $147.50 & shipping.

BTW if you've got a Weaver N&W Caboose you'd like to trade, let me know. That would sweeten the deal considerably. You could have the 4141 Caboose, plus cash.

Tom "Gilly" Gilsdorf...thanks for the offer...but, I visited my local hobby shop on the way home this afternoon.  I had a vague memory of seeing that caboose on the shelf a couple of times over the years...each time scoffing at the $84.95 price.

Well...it was still there...so I liberated it for that $84.95 plus tax.  I am feeling like I got a deal...but, wow...what could I get on eBay if I undercut Gryzboski by about $25?

Just a thought...I purchased the Lionel 4141...SD70ACe...my only Lionel Legacy equipment...that I, of course, swore I would never purchase either.

And so it goes...I need something to rejuvenate my interest in this hobby.

Great deal, glad to hear you found one! Dodged another bullet. I would have hated to see that thing go! You got yours for less than what I paid when they first came out!

On eBay for $150 "Buy it Now", I'd bet it wouldn't last 24 hours....

Its a nice caboose and it matches the MTH engine perfectly...

That is one thing you can be sure of with that hobby shop...they don't seem to be aware of the OGR type world at all...
