When Lionel announced the 2021 de-featured release of this set, I immediately went searching for an original, 2005 set. I ended up with two sets, one new and one used. I've decided to sell the used set.
Previous owner cleaned, lubricated and adjusted all the door mechanisms and limit switches, and tilt mechanisms. I tested them and they all work perfectly. I replaced the traction tires and two (2) journals that showed signs of zinc rot. (I purchased a complete truck assembly from Lionel in order to get the journals.)
The Acela set is a complicated model train system. It has many built in systems for protection of the electrical components. An understanding of these safety systems and how to reset the consist to clear a fault is strongly encouraged. I can provide more detailed information to the buyer.
