This arrived the other day. Very nice scheme for a classic Gilbert Tank Car.

That is a nice looking car. I recently received some of the 2016 catalogued cabooses and the C&NW stock car. You seem to be big into the "traditional" flyonel line. How bout some pictures of your layout.

Wish I could but no layout. I am planning a way to find the proper room and place...then perhaps a combo S and Lionel O layout...as I like both.
Nice tanker, Mike! Thanks for the pics!
You know, it is a striking looking car, but I can't help but think the scheme would look better on a more modern looking car, like the American Models Tank.

The problem is Lionel or MTH have no plans to offer a modern tank car. They say that most people run trains from the 40's and 50's so Gilbert style tankers is what will be produced.

But Lionel spent a lot of bucks to create those new modern diesels & cylindrical tank cars over the last several years.

Lionel made cylindrical hoppers in S, not tank cars.
Nice cars if they didn't screw up the trucks and do a tsunami of fantasy NS paint jobs. They're still trying to unload them.
