I just saw on eBay a Texas Special alco set that has a black roof and slightly off red paint job. Mine is all red and a yellow hood above the headlight. Can anyone share some light on this.

Not sure. Can't say I've ever seen that TS scheme before either. Perhaps the seller "Trick Trains n Things" custom painted them? Or they're an engineering prototype L had done for them to take a look at? Would help if the seller showed a photo of the product number on the box. In any case, I prefer them with the yellow per the 2014 catalog. (Now that was a real catalog. I used to own and enjoy a fair number of items from there - including #2020, both LV ES44AC's, and others. Back in the day...)
