Lionel Bullian "mint"cars, anyone still collecting them?

Here's Bob Mintz's article listing all of the mint cars.  He keeps it updated.  The rare ones are usually, but not always, the uncatalogued ones, the special employee versions, and the convention banquet cars.

I have all but a handful of them (mostly the banquet cars from the Western conventions).  I'd like to run them in a long consist some day.

A member of our club, John Eagle, had a full train of them. He had at least 30, and was very nice to see them all assembled and run on our layout. Sadly he passed away last summer and is sorely missed.

My brother in law has at least 25 of these cars.  He has the GG1 and caboose that Lionel did to pull these cars.  We get him a couple of the specialty bouillion cars every year for his birthday and Christmas.

Patiently waiting for the Texas Special "diamonds" mint car from LCCA along with the SW switcher and calf set.  Should be arriving in a few weeks I hope.  I wish they would have placed an LED under diamond load, that would have been pretty cool.

Several can be called rare.  My favorite "rare" one is the Scrooge McDuck Mint car.

I would guess that these two would be classified as rare since very few were manufactured.

I always thought the #9319 the first one that was made in 1979 (I believe) The TCA convention car that came with a special coin which you received if you attended the convention was a good one to have.
