IMG_20200216_172524I purchased a while back a pristine Lionel Chicago and Alton. This a conventional runner with magna traction and the locomotive runs great. The problem is there is a very loud continuous buzzing from the tender where the sound board is. The tender gets its power from the locomotive via two wires so no pickup roller on the tender. When I decided to try to run this unit it immediately started the noise so I took the tender shell off and found the sound board had been mounted with some soft foam which had completely disintegrated allowint the board to float around inside. This may have shorted something out and caused the problem. The tender has a gear on the axle shaft that I am thinking gives it the chuffing sound it is supposed to have. Now to my dilemma. I have searched high and low trying to find a replacement board but no luck finding anything about this locomotive and tender.  Can't even find which board this has. Anyone know what I need and where it may be available?

Here are some pictures of what I have to perhaps help.

"Mighty Sound of Steam" board failures because of the foam insulation are common. The boards have some limited availability, and are generally repairable with off-the-shelf components. There are several styles with slightly different features.
You want 690-8002-T20, although other iterations might work too. There is further SOS discussion available on this forum and elsewhere, including repair videos .
