Lionel Conrail Switcher - Why None?

Doesn't help much, but ...

Atlas made two two different Conrail switcher models in TMCC O scale … SW8 and MP15DC. But, they go for a lot of money when they pop up on eBay.

I've used rattle can spray paint from Model Master for Conrail switchers I had. Conrail used at least two different blues over the years, and their earlier paint faded quickly, so there were many different shades seen out on the rails. I used two different shades of Model Master blues, turned out nice.

I don't think that Microscale ever made the smaller sized Conrail decals for the switchers, and their decals for the road units just don't look right if you trim them down. I tried.

However, Champ did make these switcher decals. Champ is long out of business, but places do still have their decals. I bought some. They are old, so the decals need a litle gentle care when applying.

I have only seen the shell for the Atlas O MP15 DC as of late. I rarely see the Conrail MP15DC as well as the Trainman U23B on da Bay.

?? Pennsy ??   This dates to 1999.  upgrade to TMCC.    I don't remember Atlas doing SW8's or SW9's  in Conrail.

Don't worry. They will get around to them eventually.  There will be Lionel switchers with can openers on them.

Sorry, don't know. Only run conventionally.

I have an Aliquippa & Southern switcher made by Atlas and I can run it with my MTH DCS setup. If I'm not mistaken it's set up for TMCC out of the box.

Your Legacy system will operate Atlas TMCC engines … you don't have to do anything. Ready to go. Just as it operates Lionel TMCC engines. 

There's always the RMT Bang S-4.   I have one of these somewhere that I upgraded to TMCC years ago.

Probably when I find it.  I know it's buried away in my pile of boxes.  Once my layout top is on, I'm going to be unpacking them and storing them under the layout, then it will doubtless be unearthed.   Moving is a PITA, but at least something positive is coming of it, I finally get a decent layout.

I am definitely a buyer when you find it. Too bad it is buried, I have money burning a hole in my pocket :>

FYI... trainz has an Atlas one on the site now, powered and reasonably priced with no bidders at the moment.

Hello Cubalz:  I have an "O" Williams by Bachmann NW-2 Switcher Box Number 21603 and Engine Number Conrail 9344. It has 2 DC Can Motors, Traction Tires, Electronic Horn/Bell & Reverse Unit.  It is an exact copy of Lionel's Postwar NW-2 Switcher.  Has front and rear headlights and 2 marker lanterns in the front of the loco.  The paint job is perfect with Conrail "Big Blue" Color with White Printing and Conrail Serif.  The Handrails in the front and back are also painted white.  The front and rear steps have white safety strips on them.  Unfortunately, Williams by Bachmann does not make too many of these locomotives today -- but I am sure you could get one on Ebay and other O Gauge Dealers that handle Williams by Bachmann Products.  Try advertising on this Forum in the Want Section.  I made a few minor cosmetic up-grades on my Williams by Bachmann Engines (yes, I own 22 of them).....Let me know if you can find one of these engines.  They are tough and run practically forever.
