Mr. Muffins,

From going through Lionel's website, I found a Southern Pacific in green made in 2006 with scale 73" drivers. I would say they are 73", so 1131-1135 in Lackawanna are the correct road numbers. You get enough orders, let me know and I will take pictures of which ever number you choose. I will then email them to you asap. I will go through all 13 DL&W books I have and send you everyone I find of that road number. Just remember, 1134 and 1135 had snow plows after one rebuild and stayed on till scrapping. I am all in for helping to get any DL&W engine made as close to original pictures as possible.

thank you - 1133 it is

At the end of this week Mr. Muffin will cut the list down for those engines that have less than 10 ordered. Pre-orders are due sometime around the end of February, so as long as any engine offered has more than 10 by the end of this week, it has a chance to be made.

The main thing will be getting enough to make the 25 minimum order. I would imagine like the last time Steve will update on where and what is definitely getting made. I know the last time that there was a good engine that was one of the custom runs, it fell short. I myself would have ordered one just for the sake of trying to get it made had I had extra money to put on it, but couldn't.

Hopefully whatever people are interested in make the cut, but we will know that will not be true for some. All we can do is hope what we want is what gets pushed forward to be made. See what comes.

Here are the models that got at least 10 preorders - so I am going ahead with these

Mine are getting ordered. Yipppee.   How many did Pete order

Hi Ben, I sent all my O 2&3 rail and HO to auction. I am downsizing completely, what money I get from selling everything I am building a small S scale layout. I am building my own railroad, based off the DL&W-L&NE-MA&PA.

But, depending on which version of 1136 Mr. Muffins gets made.....(one has NEVER been done before)

I swore that I would never order a Lionel BTO engine. You made me eat crow as I just ordered the PC 2189 GP 30. Your orders went up by 1. Just don't tell my wife. Really love the Legacy sounds and always had a liking for the GP30. What would be cool if it had the large Barco Speedometer in the cab. Make it prototypical with an indicator needle that jumps all over the place when starting out.

We haven't gotten to 25 each, but we are doing these for sure:

  • Lionel 21312BO - USRA Pacific - Baltimore & Ohio (Black) #5236 - Custom Run for MrMuffin'sTrains - If you want a blue one, we will have it professionally painted for you for an addition $250
  • Lionel 21312DLW - USRA Pacific - Delaware, Lackawanna & Western #1133 - Custom Run for MrMuffin'sTrains
  • Lionel 21312LN - USRA Pacific - Louisville and Nashville L&N #280 - Custom Run for MrMuffin'sTrains
  • Lionel 21312NYC - USRA Pacific - New York Central NYC #3330 - Custom Run for MrMuffin'sTrains
  • Lionel 21312M444 - USRA Pacific Steam Locomotive "Monon" #444 - Custom Run for MrMuffin'sTrains
  • Lionel 21314Erie Camelbacks - Erie #878
  • Lionel 21314PRR Camelbacks - Pennsylvania  #820

  • Lionel 21334CGW GP30 - Chicago Great Western # 201 - Custom Run for MrMuffin'sTrains
  • Lionel 21334LN GP30 - Louisville & Nashville - L&N #1060 - Custom Run for MrMuffin'sTrains
  • Lionel 21334PC GP30 - Penn Central - #2222 - Custom Run for MrMuffin'sTrains
  • Lionel 21334PCR GP30 - Penn Central - #2189 - Custom Run for MrMuffin'sTrains

Hey Steve, I'm curious as to the color of the boiler, whether it is black, gray, graphite, or what ever other colors they could be? I know it is early and it may take a bit to get information on that, but figured I would ask.

This matters only if it matters to you (it does to me):

The NYC had no USRA Pacifics, and the photo above is one of a NYC K3 Pacific (probably; there were other similar classes), the primary Pacific in NYC Line East service, ultimately replaced in mainline service by the first Hudsons. They did not look very "USRA-ish".

The NYC had few USRA-design steamers: H-6 Light Mikes; U-3 0-8-0 switchers; a few 0-6-0's on a subsidiary I forget; Heavy Mike copies w/changes on the P&LE. I think that was it.

The loco above is not of a USRA engine.

I was up for the Western Maryland version, but only 2 other folks were of like mind.  I'm still pondering the B&O in black.  My maternal grandfather fired one of them after returning from WWI.  He had been a fireman for about 10 years before the war as well, but of course not on USRA engines.

February 28th is the deadline, is that right, Steve?

@PSU1980  For what it’s worth, it has been posted here on the forum that Lionel raised the minimum order quantity for custom run engines to 40.

That is not what question is being asked though. Yes the minimum was raised, but that doesn't mean that Steve made the bar with orders(or barely) and even ordered more. Steve got quite a bit of success on most of the offerings he wanted to run. He is very smart on what he can sell and has great ideas on what could also sell and be great. He wanted to do a Monon(I think it was) 2-8-8-2 which I would have ordered to try and help, but unfortunately I had quite a lot of other obligations that prevented that.

I'll message Steve noting the question and see if he'll pop in here. I'm also curious if he'd share the other numbers on the Pacific's.
